Play Date

A quiet day today. Our friend, R, came over and spent the day with us. Her family returns home tomorrow and her folks had a few errands to wrap up before going. We were delighted to have her spend time with us. This afternoon, we decided to bake the cake that we purchased yesterday at Hiper Paiz. We had already discussed having dinner with R's folks but then when the cake came along, we decided to have dinner here at our apartment with everyone. I know, you're probably thinking how I could prepare a dinner for guests without J? Well, spaghetti isn't too hard, even for me. Brown the meat, add the Prego, cook the pasta, and you are done! We, of course, went to the little Panaderia around the corner from our apartment and bought pan frances to go with it. You can't beat fresh french bread, especially when it costs Q2 for each "section" or loaf (I don't know what they really refer to it as here but it's more like a sectioned off piece of bread--I'll have to photograph it the next time). The cake topped off a good dinner with some new friends (they brought the salad--you know me, not into vegetables).
Adoption News
Nothing today. :( I emailed and called the Embassy about the DNA appointment. I hope to hear from them in some fashion tomorrow. I am just ready to get this part OVER WITH! I wish they would just deal with me and then they wouldn't have to mess with me anymore.

We are still struggling with our decision for going, staying, etc. Please pray for wisdom for us in this. I do not want to damage the relationship that has started to form with HG between myself and her sisters. Today, she was into kissing them (even HV!). I cannot afford to lose my job and I cannot afford to squash my kid. What's a gal to do?
