Even though we had a quiet day yesterday and naps too, we're all still a bit tired. We started the morning by teaching HG to play a version of peek-a-boo. Our version went like this: "Donde esta Mommy?" while covering my face and then letting her pull the blanket off of my face. This went on for about 30 minutes while we all were piled into my bed (well, mine with HG I should say). She definitely knows who we are but she's still learning object permanence--you know, out of sight, out of mind, right? So, it's good for her and it also forces her to continue to interact with us. Then, our neighbor made a "treasure hunt" for quetzales which he hid around the garden. Each kiddo found enough quetzales to buy an ice cream cone (only need Q7 which is less than $1 for a waffle cone). So, then we all made the trek to the ice cream store where each kiddo got to order and then pay for his/her own cone. Fun! They had taken their little yorkie doggie for a grooming this morning and so we went to pick him up (this is the same little doggie that HG met a few days ago). Poor little guy! They don't groom yorkies here, I guess, the way that we do back home. He has been a little embarrassed, I think, about his lack of hair. I'm not even sure that HG realizes that it's the same doggie! Then back home for more playing. Our neighbor built the kids a tee pee last night out of bamboo on a challenge from his wife. The kids then insisted that it needed some covering and a door and so he took care of that with some lawn and garden sized trash bags which he accidentally purchased, thinking they were the kitchen size! The kids took turns watching movies in the tee pee which was rather warm considering it is covered in black trash bags! They have loved it. I have a few pics but I will have to post them tomorrow. I'm too pooped tonight. Tonight, we met some new/old friends for dinner. This family adopted through the same program that we used for HV and HM's adoptions and they are here on vacation. I forgot my camera and so I didn't capture any fun photos from our yummy dinner together (thanks again, guys, for the fun time!). Then, back home to clean up and get ready for bed! Nothing too exciting, I know, but it's all I have to share today.
Please pray for good things for HG's adoption this week! We need some positive movement!
