Notta Lotta

Not much happening today. I did 6 loads of laundry yesterday which made for a light day today--none! We went to the pool and it was REALLY cold. I don't know what happened to the heater for it, but it was definitely not on today. Brrrr! HA and his fiance', C, came over to cook dinner for us tonight. He had asked about doing it yesterday, but I already had dinner in the oven and so we rescheduled for today. A tasty pasta dish was shared as well as some good company. We finished off the brownies and ice cream tonight too. Yep, I'm sad about that being gone.
Our neighbor had her baby today--it's a girl! Baby girls' big brother and sister were excited to tell us all about her when we returned from the pool this afternoon. We'll get to see her in a few days too!
Yesterday evening, I had a contest with HV and HM. The kids had been playing with the bamboo from the broken tee pee and it was in pieces everywhere. I gave them a grocery bag and we had a contest to see who could pick up the most pieces of bamboo. HV and HM were a team and HG and I were a team. Well, HG didn't do much but I think she maybe picked up one piece! The winning team received 2 Quetzales each! Now, of course HV and HM had to win because neither one of them had any money at all. They did a great job and were proud of their 2 quetzales. HM has a hard time keeping up with her money. Even at home, she loses it all of the time. Well, by this morning, she had already lost her 2 quetzales. She was devestated when she realized that meant she would not be able to purchase a piece of BubbaLoo gum on the way to the pool. HV agreed to purchase the gum today (2 pieces of gum per 1 quetzal) and HM would buy it the next time. I still don't think that HM "got it" but she was grateful for her piece of gum.
Oh! Guess who else made a visit last night at our house? That's right. The good ol' Tooth Mouse! HV lost a tooth yesterday morning. Guatemalan tradition is that you throw the tooth on your roof and the Mouse will come. Well, he visits us at home and we don't throw our teeth on the roof so we decided we would try it here that way too because we weren't sure how we were going to get the tooth on the roof of our 2-story house. Last night after dinner, HG and I came upstairs to take our shower while HV and HM finished up their dessert downstairs. When HV came up to go to bed, there was a Q10 bill on her pillow! Now, we aren't sure when or how that sneaky mouse made it into our house, but I suspect he came through their closet window this afternoon. See, that window doesn't have a screen on it and I had to open it yesterday when I mopped the floor in there, helping it dry. I'm sure that was his point of entry, don't you think?
I hope you all wrapped up a good week today!
