Shoes

Our girls hate shoes. At home, they take their shoes off in the garage, not even wearing them into the house. Mainly this is because they are typically full of rocks and/or dirt, but taking them off when arriving home is still a habit. HG is picking up on the habit even though she really doesn't care for the different textures on her feet. At first, she will walk on the sides of her feet and then she will put the whole foot down. Well, today after returning home from a little shopping (more on that later, maybe tomorrow), the girls all shed the shoes upon entering the house. I was unable to buy a new phone card because my normal tienda was closed today. I was asking the groundskeeper of my apartment about where to buy one that was close by (HV and HM were NOT going out again) and he offered to go get one for me. Nice! So, I walked back to my apartment for the money for him and then back up the walkway to give him the money (not leaving the complex, of course, without the kids). When I came in the door, HG politely handed me the socks for all 3 girls. I asked HV where the shoes were and she said she wasn't sure but joked that perhaps HG had put them in the trash (remember the swim bottoms from a few days ago?). I turned and looked at the dining table and laughed.

J would be proud! Most of you know that J runs our home beautifully. The three of us (me, HV and HM) aren't very good about putting up our shoes when we take them off (unless we do so in the garage but even then, we can get a pile going in there). J might have a little helper with the shoes after all.
Yes, that's a phone book in the chair. HG can't really reach the table well with just the chair alone and so this phone book gives her just enough extra height to reach. She also won't get down from the table by herself since the book is wiggly. :)

HM took this picture tongiht and wanted me to share it with you all. She was watching TV with HG as I cleaned up the kitchen from supper and decided that a picture was needed. So, enjoy the "talents" of HM, photographing her new little sister!
