Day 3, Resting and Mass

We enjoyed another quiet day today. We went to Catholic mass with HA (remember him from a few posts ago?) and his family. It was his nephew's first birthday today and so the service was dedicated or in honor of little Chepe. He's a cutie pie with curly hair. I failed to get his picture, but I'm sure I will see him again while I am here. The mass was in spanish but I could pick up things here and there. HA also would explain what was going on some too. After mass, we had planned on going to Pollo Campero for lunch with HA's family but there was absolutely no parking. We decided to get the food para llevar (to go) and eat at HA's house. I bought enough food that we could have the chicken at other meals too. HV and HM had a great time playing with their chihuahuas, Chilapa y Cocoa. HA's mom, A, laughed that she has not seen Chilapa run so much in so many years. Quite funny! Then, back to the apartment where the girls played on the playground equipment before taking a bath and having dinner. We're all going to bed early tonight because we have to get up early tomorrow to be at the Court at 8 a.m. I hope to be posting some GOOD news for us tomorrow! We had a good start on Friday and I hope we can keep this wheel moving.

I should clarify one thing--getting custody of HG does not mean we are in a position to bring her home. We still have adoption processes to complete but having her with us, allowing her to begin to settle into our family while still on "her turf" is so good. I pray that things will move so swiftly that we can bring her home asap.

Lastly, we still don't have all of our luggage. We had only 2 bags arrive yesterday. So, I still have only 2 sets of clothes. I'm sure when I go see the judge tomorrow she will wonder why I am wearing the same clothes I did on Friday! Oh well. I am washing clothes, so at least they are clean. I only have one pair of shoes for myself--dress shoes-- and so I have bruises literally on the tops of my feet from wearing them all of the time. I have all of the clothes for the 3 girls but no toys, kitchen stuff, or clothes for me. We were told that the bags should be on the flight tonight so I'll call tomorrow and see if I can find them. The thing is they told me the same thing on Thursday night when we arrived--that they would be on the Friday night flight. Fingers crossed but I can deal with it if we don't get the suitcases tomorrow IF we get HG!
