Plop

WARNING: If bodily functions gross you out, then don't read on. :)

We played outside this afternoon and then when the rain began, we all came in. HM and HV hit the showers and HG took her clothes and pull up (she had been napping) off too. Well, remember that yarn thing that HV and HM got in their hair? HV's got tangled in her little pony tail holder and so I had to take hers out. It took a while and so HG was simply walking around the house stark naked, waiting to get in the shower with me. I was also warming dinner--leftover pizza. I see HG walking towards me and she then stops walking, making a face. Before "No!" could come fully out of my mouth, she had pooped on the floor! Yuck! Her potty chair was only about 5 feet away and I truly think it was done somewhat out of protest or anger at me, not fully resolving her confusion and/or anger from this morning. She stopped going and I put her on the potty chair where she finished. Whew! HV and HM, of course, were grossed out. HG didn't eat dinner either. Pizza is one of her favorite foods but not today. I tried oatmeal which she has eaten with me before on previous trips but not today. So, after her pachita, she was off to sleep. I think she needed that the most after her emotionally exhausting day.
Yes, I knew we would have days like this. When you have not lived in a family unit ever and don't fully understand a family unit, it creates confusion. She has what I call "pack mentality" vs. being a domesticated pet animal. She has to learn how to operate within a family and we have to teach her that. She has learned SO much in the last 9 days that I knew we would (and will continue to have) days of digression. She still allows me to comfort her--she hit her mouth on the swing and cried for me--on days like this. She still holds her little arms up for me to pick her up and give her the pachita. She still strokes my arm and I think still knows I am the protector. She just needs to test that a little bit. So, my HG girlie. You're stuck with me. I'm not running from you. I told her that in English tonight before her pachita. I know she didn't understand, but she will learn.
