DNA legalization: authentication? Check!

My friend, DR, was able to get the DNA paperwork/report authenticated Thursday with the Guatemalan Consulate in Chicago. We had a little delay this week with this all due to the holiday for Independence Day. DR was able to scan the document and so I have sent it via email to the translator so he can begin working on it now. The document itself should be in Guatemala on Monday.
DR's son, who is still in Guatemala like HG, was involved in an accident this week involving a car. He spent some time in the hospital but has been released now and is doing well. To think that the accident could have been HG or any of the kids in Guatemala waiting for their adoptions to be completed....
We do not have any concrete news on the Appeals Court process, but it seems that the signatures did not happen Friday. I don't really understand this whole process of signatures, notifications, etc., but we were hoping that the signatures would begin Friday and would be finished up on Monday. I'm not sure now what the timing for it will be.
Lastly, HM and HV got to speak with HG on the phone Friday afternoon. From what I am told, she was grinning from ear to ear when she heard from them. I talked to her too. Boy, I'm ready for her to be home.

  1. not a single day goes by without us thinking of HG and your whole family - reading your post about all of the other challenges that your family has been going through just makes me want to weep ... I honestly don't know if any of these delays/problems that are caused by people are part of God's plan - I imagine someone looking on and feeling as distressed as I do and holding you all up in whatever way is possible

We will keep praying for miracles and hope that HG comes home soon xxx
