On Hold

I know I haven't updated much on HG's case. Sadly, there isn't much to report. Remember me talking about the Appeals Court issuing their "sentencia?" Well, that came out about 2 weeks ago. Remember me talking about the US Embassy requesting more paperwork? These two things have now become twisted together for me, resulting in a "holding pattern" for us for now. I need a certified copy of the Sentencia, but I cannot obtain one for about 2 more weeks. See, technically someone could appeal the sentencia and they have 30 calendar days to do so. IF this happens, it's bad, bad news for us all. It could take 1-2 YEARS to clear this type of appeal. Please pray that this doesn't happen. Now, nothing has been stated as being wrong with HG's case, BUT since she is still tied to the original orphanage and, from what I am told, she cannot be legally separated from that in this matter, our case would be stuck. Again, please pray that the appeal of the Appeal/sentencia does not happen for the sake of all of the children involved (14 children), not just HG. None of us can endure going through this, that's for sure. We've all been through enough. If no one files to appeal the sentencia, then we should resume processing in the last week of October (both with the Guatemalan side and with the US Embassy simultaneously). I am going to pray and claim that the appeal of the sentencia doesn't happen. Will you join me?
