Back in the Game?
We're almost back in the legal game with HG's case. About 5 weeks ago, the PGN/Attorney General's office requested 8 documents. Some of you might call this a "rejection," "unfavorable opinion," or sent back with previos (Again, rejection doesn't mean it's over--it means they want clarification or additional information). 3 of them were in the file folder already and had simply been overlooked. 3 of them were submitted already and have been "lost" in the last few weeks within their own office. And the remaining 2 were new documents. My understanding is that we currently have 7 of the 8 things done and are waiting on just one. The thing with this one, however, is that the Guatemalan government doesn't issue it anymore. That's right. The Attorney General's office which is part of the Guatemalan government is asking for a document that the Guatemalan government no longer issues. Go figure. Efficiency at it's worst? I don't know. But, apparently there is some sort of legal mechanism to deal with this sort of thing but it takes time. It's always more time (or money), right? And so, we wait. We think that we will have this last document by the beginning of next week. Lord, I hope so. And then, we can get back into the game. Keep hangin' on, sweet HG. Your family is coming!

Good to catch up with you and your case!!! It has been a long, long time since I heard any news on your case. Possibly since we saw each other on the streets in Antigua or possibly at Hotel Antigua's pool so many months ago! Praying you are able to bring your precious girl home soon. We finally made it home after a very long journey. I will enjoy keeping up with your progress.
